The Yotvata Salt Playa educational multi lingual * website includes an easy-access database of environmental research performed by our high school students, relevant papers from the academia and university-sponsored research, and photographs (ground, aerial, and satellite). The materials span the realm of environmental studies, including earth sciences, physical geography, hydrology, biology, botany, zoology and the relevant social sciences regarding human settlement and economic activity in the area. The project is carried out by a core-group of students and teachers at our school. This educational database is a source of information for students' on-going studies. The display of data enables their peers world-wide to learn about life in the desert environment or to use it while working on similar projects. The student developers of the site have built a "costume-made" search engine. An additional feature is an on-line magazine, which enables students world-wide to add data which they feel may benefit others. It provides a forum to question peers, to raise relevant issues for future research, and to respond to materials displayed on the site.
