Assessment

Step 1

1. Choose a name for your restaurant.
2. Decide what food you are going to serve there.
3. Explain the connection between the name of the restaurant and the food you are going to serve there. (Write about 5 sentences)
4. Fill in the first part of the Checklist.

Step 2

5. Search for different examples of menus. Use on-line restaurants and real ones. Collect as many samples of menus as you can.
6. Analyze the information you found in the menus:


- Is there any connection between the name of a restaurant and the food that is served there? Explain your answer in about 3-5 sentences.
- How are different foods grouped in the menu? Explain your answer in about 3-5 sentences.
- List all the categories you found in the menus.
- Make a glossary of all the terms used in menus you have found.

7. Fill in the second part of the Checklist.

8. Design a cover for your menu.
9. Explain your design in about 5 sentences.
10. Fill in the third part of the Checklist.

Step 4

11. Discuss with your group members and list foods your menu will contain.
12. Categorize the food you want to serve in your restaurant using the information you got from the sample menus.
13. Decide how much it will cost. Motivate the prices (in about 3-5 sentences).
14. Fill in the fourth part of the Checklist.

Step 5

15. Create the menu of your restaurant. Make sure it contains all the necessary components.
16. You can make it either in a computer document or in the form of a written brochure.
17. Edit your menu. You can make either computerized or in a form of a brochure.
18. Fill in the fifth part of the Checklist.
19. Fill in the Reflection Form.

Step 5

20. Advertise your restaurant to your classmates in your oral presentation.
