Description and Programs:

The Association provides support for children, boys and girls, from low socio-economic strata, whose parents cannot provide them with suitable tools for proper development. Eight clubs have been established in Holon since 1990. These clubs provide services to about 120 children, ranging in age from 6 to 10 years old. It is essential that the support be provided in such a way as to keep the children together with their families. Currently, there are not enough clubs for all the applicants. Funding is received from the Ministries of Education, Labor and Social Welfare, and from the Holon Municipality. The Association currently operates eight such clubs. Children arrive at the clubs directly from school and stay till 6 p.m. Lunch and dinner are served, and comprehensive tutoring and emotional support are provided by an experienced team of an instructor and a housemother. The team is constantly in touch with the schools, social workers and the families. This enables individual guidance and support for every child. We are not affiliated with any political or religious group.

With your support, we hope to establish additional clubs to enable more children in need to participate, equip the clubs with computers, books, etc., and provide cultural enrichment and activities for youth during the holidays when the schools are closed.

The Chairman, Mr. Isaac Aharoni, is an experienced educator, having worked in the field for the last 40 years. He was a teacher and school principal in Holon. Mr. Aharoni sees every child as a human being, who deserves a fair chance to develop properly and be able to make his own way through his adult life. Therefore, support for children in need is vital. We do not discriminate against anyone in need, but give assistance to everyone, whether they be Russian, Ethiopian or native Israelis, religious or secular - our main criteria is that they are in need.
