This is how I use Word to teach my students reading comprehension.
For in Microsoft’s Word the teacher can type in both questions and answers.
The student can use Word on the computer in the lab to read the questions, answer
them in his notebook, and then, with a double-click of the mouse, he can immediately
check himself without waiting for the teacher to beready to explain to the whole class.
I have used this with success for reading comprehension, with articles taken from
all over. You see, I have a double period in the late hours of the day, after my students
exert themselves in a double period of sport, so they aren’t exactly burning to learn .
I take them to the computer lab.
You are welcome to download the Word files and accompanying texts and
try them out with your class. (High school or younger English speakers.)
OR you can also download the "frame" I have devised, and simply
type in your own questions ,vocabulary and answers for a text you wish to teach.
